Jesus endured so much suffering in the events leading up to His death on the cross. And He did it all because of love.

As we sit in the events of Holy week, particularly the uncomfortable bits, noticing the pain and brutality, and seeing the same brutality evident in the world around us today, I have been given a whole new realisation of just how deep Jesus love for me runs.

31st March: Luke 22:44-45. Jesus was in anguish and prayed earnestly to God as He anticipated being arrested and sentenced to death.

God is the giver of good and perfect gifts. In times of trial He knows what we need to receive from Him. And yet, how often we do reach for other things for comfort, hope, strength; things that ultimately deceive us or let us down.

Today I'm reminded to turn to God, the God who is always good.

The Psalmist speaks of praising God more and more. In the midst of a heavy week, taking time to praise God each day has shifted the week. It hasn't fixed it but it has shifted my perspective and made me aware of God with me in it, and I'm so grateful for that.

When we fix our eyes on Jesus, it can give us hope to endure in the midst of trials. And not just hope to endure but also the ability to find things to be thankful for in those times too.
