Often between Christmas and New Year we reflect on the year that is ending and the one that is about to start. For all of us the past year will have had its highs and lows, but we can be sure of God’s faithfulness through it all. For some there will be a sense of anticipation as we look ahead to the new year. For others it may be tinged with sadness and pain.

However you are feeling about saying ‘goodbye’ to the past year and ‘hello’ to the next, here is an opportunity to do it with God.

 

During this 7-day Bible Writing Challenge you will write out a passage of scripture each day. The first few days will invite you to remember what God has done, to give thanks to Him for the joys, to acknowledge any difficult or painful moments and memories, and to recognise His presence with you in the past year. The second half will help you to bring the New Year before the Lord; to prepare yourself for the year ahead and to enter into it with your mind fixed on Him and His promises.

 

But ‘Why write out the Bible and not just read it?' you might be wondering.

 

There are so many benefits to writing by hand. It helps us retain more information. It engages our brains in a different way and it can often spark creativity.
